Bringing the Albert Hall to Lancashire

November 11th, 2018 is an extremely significant and unique occasion for the country as a whole. On this day, three historic events come together.

Every year, Armistice Day is normally commemorated on the 11th November and remembers the end of WW1. Remembrance Sunday is the 2nd Sunday of November each year and remembers all those killed in all wars (not just in WW1). They are normally celebrated on different days but in 2018, they fall on the same day which means that even under normal circumstances it will be a big event. However, November 11th 2018 is also the centenary of the end of the Great War which makes this date even more significant.

In aid of the Royal British Legion and supported by BBC Radio Lancashire, ELCB has brought together musicians and artists within the Lancashire area to honour the heroes of all conflicts in a Festival of Remembrance at the Preston Guildhall. The event will be one of the largest commemorative events outside London and will showcase the very best in music and song from many  groups and associations, including :

  • Concert bands
  • Marching bands
  • Pipe bands
  • Choirs
  • Solo artists

Tickets will be £12.50 (inc. booking fee) and will be available very soon from the Preston Guildhall box office. There will be 1500 seats available so plenty for everyone.

Once again, we have been in contact with our friends at BBC Radio Lancashire and are pleased to announce that they intend to broadcast the event live to their listeners.
