The band are pleased to announce a new and exciting joint venture with Blackburn Drama Club.
We'll be playing a specially chosen programme of 1930s music to support the Club's award-winning play, 'Address Unknown'.
The play has enjoyed a successful tour across the country, but is finally back at the club's home - the Thwaites Empire Theatre, Ewood. Along the way the Club collected no fewer than 9 Festival Trophies, ranging from Best Male Actor to Audience’s Choice, with extremely appreciative responses from all the audiences.
'Address Unknown' by Katherine Kressman Taylor, edited for the theatre by Frank Dunlop, received the following glowing review from The New York Times Book Review: "This modern story is perfection itself. It is the most effective indictment of Nazism to appear in fiction”.
The narrative consists of a series of letters exchanged between Max, a Jewish man living in California, and Martin, his German business partner and close family friend, recently returned to Germany; and this correspondence takes place shortly before Hitler takes power, prior to WW2.
As the play itself is only just over 50 minutes long, the band will join forces with the Blackburn Drama Club to produce a full evening’s entertainment. The band will be playing music from famous composers such as Gershwin and Benny Goodman, and from popular shows from the era such as The Desert Song and New Moon. This should set the mood for the audience and lead into the curtain music for the play – Cole Porter’s 'Night and Day.'
Further information appears in our 'Forthcoming Events' section on the website.
We're very pleased that an article covering the band's remarkable history appears in the June edition of this popular and vibrant regional magazine.

We're honoured to have been asked to provide the music for a 'last night of the proms' event in the grounds of this magnificent Grade II listed building near Preston on Saturday 15th July. The event will be a mixture of light, entertaining music followed by a spectacular proms-style finish, including fireworks! All welcome. Further details in our Forthcoming Events section.
2018 in particular is going to be another big year for the band as we are just starting to plan what we hope will be one of biggest events in which the band has taken part. We're organising a spectacular event at the prestigious Preston Guildhall to commemorate all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in all conflicts. It will be Lancashire's 'Festival of Remembrance'.
Please support us and our special guests and make this a special and memorable night for all the family.
