Bringing the Albert Hall to Lancashire

November 11th, 2018 is an extremely significant and unique occasion for the country as a whole. On this day, three historic events come together.

Every year, Armistice Day is normally commemorated on the 11th November and remembers the end of WW1. Remembrance Sunday is the 2nd Sunday of November each year and remembers all those killed in all wars (not just in WW1). They are normally celebrated on different days but in 2018, they fall on the same day which means that even under normal circumstances it will be a big event. However, November 11th 2018 is also the centenary of the end of the Great War which makes this date even more significant.

ELCB has come together with the Royal British Legion and other societies, associations and clubs to honour the heroes of all conflicts in a remembrance service at the Preston Guildhall.

Festival of Remembrance, Albert Hall, 2016

The event will remember all the PALS from the lancashire area including Burnley, Accrington, Blackburn, Chorley and Preston.

Tickets are expected to be £10 and will be available from the Guildhall Box Office nearer the time. There will be 1500 seats available so plenty for everyone.

Once again, we have been in contact with our friends at BBC Radio Lancashire and are pleased to announce that they intend to broadcast the event live to their listeners.
