Celebrating the coronation of King Charles

We were invited by the Royal British Legion to play in the grounds of the 'Cottage Garden' in the beautiful Rhyddings Park in Oswaldtwistle on the 7th May.  A great coronation party atmosphere was complemented by everyone being served afternoon tea in the Cottage Garden!

Photos of the event can be found in the 'Recent events' section of our website.

During early May we played a fantastic private concert in a local Masonic retirement home. This event was a bit of a new format for us - much smaller than we're used to, but the sound was fantastic and the audience loved it and were very appreciative afterwards!

We were asked to play music from the musicals, so we played some great pieces from the classics such as 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' , 'Me and My Girl' and 'You''ll Never Walk Alone' and finished with a spectacular 'Lord of the Dance' finale (it always goes down very well and the band really enjoy playing it!).

Whilst many of our supporters couldn't attend this concert, we'll post lots of content about it on our Facebook page.

Saturday 9th July 2022 -

Again, another fabulous, magical evening playing in the grounds of Hollowforth Hall near Preston. Supporting Preston  Rotary club and local charities, the band played a mixture of pieces, supported by a stunning singer and a bagpiper to add to the occasion.

This event was a sell-out, with everyone bringing a gazebo or pinic rug, and food and drink, and of course, helping out some very good causes at the same time.

As always, the evening finished in true 'Last Night of the Proms' style with 'Jerusalem' and many other favourites before closing with a spectacular firewords display. Wow!

Sunday 26th June  2022 -

Thanks to everyone who joined us for an afternoon of music at Happy Mount Park in Morecambe. This is a regular event for the band, but the first one for a couple of years.

With the weather being changeable, we played in the cafe within the park. Everyone had a great time listening to songs from TV, films and musicals and a few quirky pieces from the jazz world!

Our thoughts go out to all the people of Ukraine

In our first March rehearsal, we all agreed it would be fitting to start by playing and recording the Ukraine National Anthem.

We're happy to announce that we will be back playing concerts in 2022.  For details of our confirmed bookings, please look at the 'Forthcoming events' section of our website.

So far we've been having a great time playing a wide range of music including:

  • 80s disco favourites
  • Pop and rock (including: Michael Jackson, Elton John, Roxette, Queen, Van Halen, Bon Jovi)
  • TV themes (including The Simpsons!, Hawaii 5-0)
  • Blues
  • Jazz rock
  • Classical - William Tell Overture (not easy, but what a great piece!)
  • Classical - Scherzo and Finale from Beethoven's Fifth Symphony
  • Classical - Music for the Royal Fireworks (Overture, Handel)
