Latest News - October 2025

After a busy summer,  we've been busy rehearsing some new music and enjoying some fun time together.  We've got some very interesting pieces, some are pop classics, from the 70s and 80s, others generate the moods and excitement from Hollywood. Some are challenging for the band, but we enjoy a challenge!

As always, we try to play music from all styles and genres for two reasons. Firstly, it's good to be able to have a strong repertoire readily available so we can respond to different requests for concerts - such as themed concerts.

Secondly, playimg different styles of music, such as rock, pop, jazz, swing, marches,  musicals and classical keeps our rehearsals refreshing, the band engaged and as a result,  we improve our musicanship and have some fun at the same time.

So, with that in mind, here's an extract of what we've been playing recently:

• Hot Stuff (Donna Summer) -  pop, made famous again by the  'Full Monty'
• Meatloaf - The Hits - classic 80s rock

• March of the Trolls (classical, Grieg)
