We're looking forward to our joint concert! The band and the Blackburn Music Society will each perform a set of approximately 20 minutes and then come together for a finale. Some great music and choral singing awaits!

As always, we try to play music from all styles and genres for two reasons. Firstly, it's good to be able to have a strong repertoire readily available so we can respond to different requests for concerts - such as themed concerts.

Secondly, playimg different styles of music, such as rock, pop, jazz, swing, marches,  musicals and classical keeps our rehearsals refreshing, the band engaged and as a result,  we improve our musicanship and have some fun at the same time.

So, with that in mind, here's an extract of what we've been playing recently:

• Hot Stuff (Donna Summer) -  pop, made famous again by the  'Full Monty'
• Meatloaf - The Hits - classic 80s rock
• The Standard of St George (march)
• March of the Trolls (classical, Grieg)
